
Tokyo, October 7, 2005 --- NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd. today
announced that it will launch three new amorphous silicon thin film
transistor, liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) modules on the market
within the second half of fiscal 2005 (ending March 31, 2006),
expanding its line-up of TFT color LCDs for industrial use to meet
a broader range of demands in this field. The new models will
comprise of a 15.0-inch (38cm-diagonal) extended graphics array
(XGA) TFT LCD, a 9.0-inch (23cm-diagonal) wide video graphics array
(W-VGA) TFT LCD, and an 8.4-inch (21cm-diagonal) super video
graphics array (SVGA) TFT LCD.
All three models support a wide operating temperature range,
from -10 degrees Celsius to +70 degrees Celsius, guaranteeing
stable operation even in the most extreme conditions. In addition,
all three LCDs realize color input of 8bit RGB (16.77M).
The key features distinguishing each new model are as
follows.
(1)Model No. NL10276BC30-18: 15.0-Inch XGA TFT
LCD
Supporting XGA resolution, this 15-inch model will achieve the
highest level of luminance in NEC LCD Technologies' entire
industrial range.
Other features include:
(A)High luminance of 500cd/m2
(B)A wide viewing angle of 150 degrees horizontally and 130
degrees vertically
(C)A high contrast ratio of 450:1
(2)Model No. NL8048BC24-01: 9.0-Inch W-VGA TFT
LCD
This model will be the first 9.0-inch TFT LCD in NEC LCD
Technologies’ range to support W-VGA. Other features include:
(A)High luminance of 400cd/m2
(B)A wide viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and 140
degrees vertically
(C) A high contrast ratio of 500:1
(3)Model No. NL8060BC21-02: 8.4-Inch SVGA TFT
LCD
As the first 8.4-inch LCD to support SVGA resolution in NEC LCD
Technologies’ lineup, this model also has the following
features:
(A)High luminance of 400cd/m2
(B)A wide viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and 140
degrees vertically
(C)A high contrast ratio of 500:1
Screens boasting high levels of visibility, enabling clear
display of a variety of information and facilitating ease of
reading, are highly sought after in the industrial market. This
need has escalated in recent years with the diversity of
installation locations and environments where appliances are
used.
