NEC to showcase its thought leadership in broadband access

Berlin, October 9th, 2007 – NEC will demonstrate its thought leadership in end-to-end broadband access technologies at the upcoming Broadband World Forum Europe 2007 event in Berlin from October 9 -11, 2007. At stand 5028, NEC will be demonstrating its broadband access technologies and strategies for EMEA and demonstrating the latest additions to its AM3100 Series of Multi-Service Access Nodes (MSANs).


In addition to the new MSAN range, NEC will be demonstrating its latest industry-leading broadband access products including:


- WiMAX

- Service Convergence Integrated Platform - NEC’s Next Generation Network

- Broadband over Powerlines

- Femtocell Solutions

- As well as cutting edge applications from the NEC Laboratories in Heidelberg, IPTV and HDTV demonstrations.


NEC will demonstrate the network equipment to build cost-effective, scalable broadband infrastructure solutions. NEC’s Quality of Experience is guaranteed using flexible, scalable transport and aggregation solutions based on robust, proven optical, IP and wireless technologies, with access solutions including xDSL, FTTx, WiMAX, 3G, Broadband over Powerlines, DVB-SH and DVB-H.


NEC’s SCI Platform enables VoIP and multimedia services, as well as offering a small start for operators such as fixed-line carriers or broadband internet operators for smooth transition to an IMS-based next generation network "NGN".
