London and Paris, November 20, 2007-NEC Corporation
announced that NEC France SAS, an affiliate of NEC Europe Ltd., has
signed a frame contract with the French mobile carrier Bouygues Telecom
to provide technical services (Base Station Optimization) for its high
speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) network.
"Base Station Optimization" refers to the maximization of
service areas covered by individual RF base stations and the
communication quality (network access, system handovers, etc.) in those
areas. This kind of optimization will enable Bouygues Telecom to offer
high-quality services and significantly improve the quality of mobile
phone usage environments for end users.
NEC's 3G base station optimization solutions offer a variety
of benefits based on NEC'S original radio wave propagation environment
simulation tools and extensive know-how and experience for both indoor
and outdoor quality of service (QoS) optimization. Leveraging these
solutions, NEC can optimize networks supplied by any manufacturer.
NEC contributes to the expansion of 3G professional services
worldwide by providing a wide range of total solutions, including
operation outsourcing, software, network design and optimization, and
indoor space services, in addition to offering technically-advanced and
reliable hardware for the construction of global 3G networks.
