Tokyo, London, Munich, January 24, 2007 --- At CeBIT 2007 NEC
once again proves its broad expertise as one of the world’s leading
solution providers for information- and telecommunications
technology. To offer the perfect solution for every demand –
“That’s why NEC innovates”: being the company’s slogan at CeBIT
2007. NEC presents its expertise in innovation within four solution
areas: IT Solutions, Network Solutions, Display
Solutions and - of course - Future
Solutions.
Future Solutions: Committed to innovation NEC
shows at this year’s CeBIT ambitious designs for the future. The
highlight of NEC’s research & development area will be a 42
inch 3D display which enables an optical egression of the presented
objects from the display surface. Thus, the famous Partner-Type
Personal Robot PaPeRo shown at the booth seems even on screen
naturally real.
The P-ISM Pen-Style Personal Networking Gadget Package is barely
bigger than a pen but full of functionalities: one can use it as a
cellular phone, as a projector, it has a camera scanner as well as
access to the internet. The new interface gives mobile devices a
feeling of relaxed operability.
Display Solutions: One of the main focuses of
NEC’s trade fair participation will be Display Solutions –
including LCD and plasma displays as well as projectors. No matter
if for business application, gaming or home cinema, NEC offers a
diversity of innovative solutions for the presentation of digital
contents.
The trend to digital signage has become increasingly popular.
With plasma and LCD displays, NEC – market leader in the public
display segment – responses to every requirement. At CeBIT the
company will present screen sizes of 40-up to 65-inch. One of the
highlights will be the currently largest LCD public display with 65
inch, the NEC MultiSync® LCD6520 with full HD resolution.
The new MULTEOS LCD multi-functional public display series with
40- and 46-inch is also 1080p compatible and is created for
multimedia applications and is truly a “pro” of visual
communications.
Besides the general trend for desktop LCDs will definitely be
“wide” – which will also be reflected in NEC’s product portfolio at
this year’s CeBIT with new wide displays from 20- to 26-inch and
for different applications – with glossy panel for gamers or for
professional users with the NEC MultiSync® 2690 WUXi.
For home cinema enthusiasts, NEC presents at this year’s CeBIT
the new XR-series that consists of 42-inch plasma displays with a
XGA resolution as well as of 50 and 60-inch displays with WXGA
resolution.
As usual NEC also provides a variety of projectors. The market
leader in this segment has an impressive product portfolio which
offers a diverse range of products and for every requirement the
right solution from portable projectors for presentation to digital
cinema projectors like the NC800C — the smallest and lightest
cinema-DLPTM projector in the world.
The new NEC LED/LCD projector, however, beats in size even the
new NP60 as the world’s smallest projector with 3000 ANSI-Lumen.
The LED projector is barely as big as two cigarette packets and
will be showcased at the CeBIT for the very first time. Photos
taken by the NEC mobile phone can now be displayed directly at the
wall.
Network Solutions: The main topic for providers
and carriers are “Next Generation Networks”. The company will
present Triple Play solutions at its booth. NEC’s Multi-Service
access platform for Internet-TV, internet access and Voice over IP
via DSL is utilised at the world’s biggest commercial IPTV
installation in Hong Kong. It boasts zero piracy of content, thanks
to its network based conditional access solution, and industry
leading scalability catering for hundreds of channels and
interactive services.
NEC also shows its WiMAX solutions. Operating in the 2.5GHz
band, this flexible basestation platform can also deliver services
in the 3.5GHz band for fixed applications. The solution includes
support for guaranteed quality of service for voice over IP and
handover between WiMAX and other key wireless technologies.
Other solutions like its point to point wireless system PASOLINK
NEO are shown. These infrastructure solutions enable operator’s
flexible and scalable configuration change according to network
evolution.
IT Solutions: NEC offers also a wide spectrum
of solution in data processing systems, from high performance
computing to PC and notebook. NEC`s “Shield Pro” notebook is
perfectly made for the use in nature - it is protected against
ingress of dust and against splashes of water from all directions.
With data security a top concern of companies, NEC's Virtual
PC-Class Thin Client System provides a solution that not only
provides a ubiquitous client environment - it does so with
corporate data security in mind. Using NEC's VPCC system,
enterprises large and small can realize substantial reductions in
installation costs, as well as enhanced functionality not
previously available in the market. The VPCC can be installed and
fully operational faster and more affordably than traditional Thin
Client architectures. These and other innovative solutions will be
shown at the booth, along with new terminal equipment for IP
telephony. The security aspects will be covered by AFIS, an
Automatic Fingerprint Identification Systems developed by NEC. NEC
AFIS system is the only AFIS to use ridge counts and relationships
between minutiae in its matching algorithm and not only developed
for the field of network solutions. It is also in use in the health
sector or border control.
At CeBIT visitors can also explore another NEC safety solution:
Smart Catch is the most progressive intelligent Video Monitoring
System which currently exists in the market place and which has
already been successfully set-up at several airports. Visitors will
have the opportunity to test these NEC safety solutions directly at
the booth: once they move opposite a pre-determined direction, the
software-supported video surveillance system will raise an
alarm.
