NEC exhibits latest solutions and live demos at stand 8A125,
Mobile World Congress 2008

Tokyo and London, February 5, 2008 - NEC Corporation (NEC) announces that
it will be showcasing its latest mobile and telecoms innovations
spanning Access, Backhaul, Network Applications and Next Generation
Networks (NGN) at stand 8A125 at Mobile World Congress 2008,
Barcelona.

NEC representatives will be available to present NEC's strategies in
areas LTE, WiMAX, femtocell and mobile backhaul. NEC's stand will
also have live demonstrations of new solutions within LTE, WiMAX,
femtocell, and next generation related products. In addition, Dr.
Botaro Hirosaki, Executive Vice President of NEC, will participate in
the congress "Convergence-The Real Story(CC-201)", at 11:30-12:50,
Wednesday 13 Feb 2008.

Dr. Botaro Hirosaki of NEC commented: "2008 will be another
challenging and fast-paced year for the industry. As demonstrated at
previous events, some of the key trends will emerge at MWC and
operators and vendors alike will be watching developments closely. As
one of the world's major technology providers with proven expertise in
delivering mobile innovation and commercial success, NEC will unveil
its latest solutions in areas which reflect predicted growth, uptake
and revenue-generation for operators, such as LTE, WiMAX and
femtocell.
The roadmap and evolution of existing investments, such as 3G
network infrastructure, will also be front of mind for operators and
NEC will present its strategies in these.

At MWC 2008, NEC aims to provide visitors with education and insight,
for example, introducing how the development of Next Generation
Networks will help realise an ubiquitous networking society and
demonstrating how operators' networks can be improved with an
increasing range of value-add applications. NEC is also committed to
the evolution of 3G and beyond, leveraging its proven heritage in this
area.

NEC will also exhibit the first LiMo-compliant mobile handsets. LiMo's
world's first globally competitive, Linux-based software platform for
mobile devices is now available in the worldwide market. The LiMo
Foundation, a global consortium of mobile leaders delivering an open
handset platform for the whole mobile industry, will also showcase
handsets in Booth 8b135, Hall 8.
The commercial LiMo handsets which are introduced at MWC in Barcelona
are the FOMA N905i, N905i\u03bc, N705i, N705i\u03bc for NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in
Japan sold in the Japanese market. Of the software modules
contributed tothe LiMo Foundation, "MSB" and "Window Manager" are
included in these four handsets. These modules are key software
components for mobile phones.
